Young Scientist

The Organizing Committee of the Central & Eastern European Congress on Free Nucleic Acids (CEECFNA) is pleased to announce a competitive Young Scientists Session, dedicated to early-career researchers working in the field of free nucleic acids and related disciplines at Slovak institutions. The initiative aims to strengthen scientific excellence and enhance the international competitiveness of researchers based in Slovakia within the broader European Research Area. This session is designed to showcase outstanding research achievements, highlight emerging scientific leaders, and foster meaningful interaction with internationally recognized experts in genomics, liquid biopsy, and translational molecular medicine.

Eligibility

  • Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
  • Age: Not older than 35 years on the first day of the conference
  • Career stage: Doctoral candidate, postdoctoral fellow, or early-stage investigator
  • Abstract submission: Original research abstract within the thematic framework of CEECFNA

Selection Process

All submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the international scientific committee based on scientific quality, originality, and overall impact. Five selected researchers will be invited to present their work in a 20-minute oral presentation during the Young Scientists Session at CEECFNA.

Young Scientist Support & Award

Five selected finalists will receive full participation support, including:

  • Full waiver of the conference registration fee
  • Accommodation (reserved and arranged directly by the conference organizers)
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses will be provided for public transport only (e.g., train or bus). Travel by private car is not eligible for reimbursement.

Based on the scientific evaluation of the presentations, one presenter will be awarded a research internship at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg. This initiative is implemented through the FORGENOM II project and represents a strategic investment in fostering emerging scientific excellence within the region.
